After the Giants’ surprising – and strange – 23:19 victory over the Cowboys on Sunday in the regular season finale, at least there is a possibility that they could face their old enemy next week in the postseason. The win improved their record to 6-10 and until the result of the Eagles-Washington game on Sunday night there is still a chance they can win the NFC East.

The Giants would be the first NFL team to ever play the playoffs with a 6-10 record. They barely snuck to six wins after nearly gaining a 20-6 advantage over the Cowboys. But unfortunately they won.

It seems fitting to face Brady, who is still a successful 43-year-old quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That’s what the Giants will face next week in the playoffs if it works.

1. Rematch: The Giants and Buccaneers played earlier this season and the game was surprisingly close. The Giants took an early lead 14: 3 and were still in the lead at 17:15 in the fourth quarter, but simply couldn’t hold on. The Buccaneers scored two late touchdowns, rising to 25-17 by less than four minutes. The Giants had a chance to tie it in the end, scoring a 19-yard touchdown on a pass from Daniel Jones 28 seconds ahead, but failed to make a two-point conversion and lost, striking 1-7 the season.

« We got kicked in the mouth and put Joe Judge on our credit – he had his team ready, » said Buccaneer’s coach Bruce Arians after the game. “They played their tails. ”

2. QB fight: There is no need to do a thorough analysis here. Brady is clearly the better quarterback and the quarterback better to trust to lead your team to a win in the playoffs. Despite the Giants’ commitment to him, Jones is not Eli Manning. He finished the regular season with 11 touchdown passes in 14 games plus 16 turnovers.

3. Guns: Another area the giants nowhere near hold a candle in Tampa Bay. This could be the best gun collection in the NFL. The Buccaneers have three current or former pro bowlers at wide receivers in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Antonio Brown, as well as Rob Gronkowski, who had a solid season. Running back, Ronald Jones looked like a pro bowler at times, and backup Leonard Fournette certainly can.

Evans injured his knee against the Falcons in week 17, but this group is extremely difficult to defend even without him. Brown didn’t even play with the Giants in their last matchup.

The Giants, on the other hand, have relied on an inconsistent group that includes Sterling Shepard, Golden Tate and Darius Slayton on wide receiver, with error-prone Evan Engram on the narrow end. It hasn’t lasted all year, and the group certainly won’t hold a candle to Tampa Bay even if the fast-paced Dante Pettis (who got a touchdown against the Cowboys) continues his formidable game.

4. Rookie left the tackles: The Giants voted Andrew Thomas fourth overall in April to end the tackles. While he has certainly improved his game over the past few weeks, he was also among the leaders in terms of pressure and bags allowed in week 17 and was brutal to get the season started. Most would argue that it would have served the giants better to draw one of the other top-level perspectives from the draft.

The buccaneers chose one of them in Tristan Wirfs. PFF has Wirfs as 13th. ranked best tackle in the NFL this season and has only allowed one sack all year.

5. Elite Defense: If you think the Giants Defense is good, take a look at Tampa Bay’s. In week 17, they were in the top 10 in Pass-Rush, Run Defense, and Coverage. You have Pro Bowl players everywhere, especially on the defensive. Former giant Jason Pierre-Paul who had 9. 5 sacks this season and has shown no signs of slowing down as a pass rusher.

The Giants offensive barely managed 23 points against the Cowboys, who have one of the worst defenses in the NFL.

The Giants’ defense did an excellent job even against serious crime, including that of Tampa Bay. As long as players like James Bradberry, Blake Martinez and Leonard Williams – who had three sacks against the Cowboys – are healthy, they can stop anyone. It’s all about

6. Prediction: The Giants are the worst playoff team that has ever made the postseason. It should be noted that five of their 10 losses were less than 10 points, including their mid-season loss to the Buccaneers on Monday night. You will play competitively. You will play hard.

But if the Giants somehow make it into the postseason with the help of the Eagles, they’ll be outdone in just about every way.
