More than 23,000 Entergy New Orleans customers were briefly without power Wednesday afternoon, according to the utility, although power was restored within 15 minutes
Entergy’s outage tracking map showed that large swathes of Mid-City, Gentilly and Carrollton had lost service as of 2:00 p.m. Wednesday
Wednesday’s blackout was the second to impact many Entergy New Orleans customers this week On Monday evening, more than 16,000 customers lost power on Lakeview, Gentilly, the fairgrounds and the 7th district
The cause of the brief blackout was unclear on Wednesday But Entergy spokesman Lee Sabatini said the lights were only off for a few minutes
She said the map on Entergy’s website that tracks outages in the city is slow to update once the situation is resolved
Email notifications are only sent once per day, and only if there are new items matching
