Abuja – A group called the new Nigerian project, NNP, has called on the federal government to respond to demands from #EndSARS protesters as expectations are high

The group made the call in a statement signed by President Mohammed Alhaji Danjum in which he stressed that if the government can proactively implement the expected reforms adequately, many problems in the system will be resolved

According to the statement, it is not necessary to become violent as some thugs have hijacked a peaceful protest and are lashing out, but with unity and mutual respect and understanding, much will be accomplished instead of making it worse. problem with irrational acts

Further, the statement condemned Nigerians who suffered violence, arson, looting and murder under cover of the EndSARS protest for making life difficult for Nigerians in general

The statement denounced the ploy to throw the country into anarchy on the part of evil politicians and their cohorts because of the power under their egocentric agenda, thus sponsoring violence

The group in the statement warned that there are examples of such movements in other parts of the world which ultimately plunged their countries into total anarchy and deteriorated into war, such as Libya, Tunisia , Sudan, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen , and others

The statement reads in part: « Let us remember Libya, Tunisia, Sudan, Iraq and even recently Lebanon, to name a few countries which are all a shadow of what they were before the Arab Spring of 2011

« A perilous and expensive approach to protest if left to rot among our teens swarming across the country could quickly turn into a dangerous situation that will leave a scar on our great country

« Above all else we place the highest importance on the sanctity of our unity as a country with a magnificent rainbow of diverse ethnicities beneath the geographic mass called Nigeria

« As a country and people there are so many issues that have gone wrong for so long that need to be addressed and urgently too. But change only comes with careful planning, patience, sacrifice and commitment

« We recognize and identify with peaceful protests and protesters and their constitutional rights to protest, » the statement added.
