Emergency services visited Rowley Regis station in Sandwell at 3:00 a.m.. 38 o’clock after reports of an accident on the tracks.
The person was pronounced dead at the scene. The UK traffic police do not treat her death as a suspect.
There was a large presence of emergency services on the station this afternoon. Services have been delayed for several hours.
A UK traffic police spokesman said: « The UK traffic police were called near Rowley Regis station at 3am. Today at 38 o’clock after reports of an accident on the tracks.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, HART paramedics and two paramedics on site.
A WMAS spokesman said: « Unfortunately, nothing could be done to save the patient and they were confirmed locally as dead. «
The West Midlands Railway, which operates the station, said: « All lines are blocked because of the emergency services dealing with an incident near the railway between Birmingham Snow Hill and Stourbridge Junction.
« Trains passing through these stations may be canceled or delayed. The disorder is expected to last up to about 6 years. 45 o’clock today. «
