UEFA plans to transfer Euro 2020 to Russia next summer due to Covid restrictions across Europe
The tournament was planned as the first to take place in various cities in Europe, including Glasgow
Hampden was due to host group matches as well as one match in the last 16 games, but UEFA could move the entire tournament to Russia, just two years after the country hosted the World Cup in 2018

Le Parisien reports that UEFA has been in « turmoil » as it seeks to resolve problems caused by the coronavirus pandemic
Russia already offered to host the Euro earlier this year at the start of the crisis before UEFA decided to delay the tournament

UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin told Movistar in October: « We are still concerned about the situation, but we are absolutely sure that EURO will be played out It must be played; it can be played
« The only thing is that we don’t know if it will be with some spectators, full stadiums or no spectators It depends on the health situation, but sport and football must continue
« It is… important to show, once again, that the world has not stopped and that there is positive energy And of course, sport and emotions and national pride, of which speaks EURO, brings hope and positive energy to people «
« Right now the plan is to do the EURO exactly as it is, but I have to say we could do a EURO, instead of in 12 countries, in 11, in 8, in 5 or in a country
« So we are still assessing the situation, we will see We have not yet discussed any changes, but, for us, it is very important to see how this health situation will evolve, how travel will evolve and how governments will react And then we have time to do something «
