Mom-of-two Alex Jones is usually on The One Show’s green couch, but she was missing tonight as Alex Scott stepped in. The former Strictly star explained that Alex Jones would be joining them via a video link to explain why she had to take a break from her presenting role
Alex S began: « A lot of people have asked where our lovely Alex Jones is, we miss her too
« I am delighted to announce that she will be joining us now Al? She’s here
« Al, I thought I was having a good old talk with you on the couch, but you left me with Gethin »
« But what happened was that a friend of mine, someone outside of work, who I saw a few days ago, tested positive for coronavirus
« So we did it with the family and we isolate I took a test and luckily it is negative
« By the way, my friend is fine too But we stay and follow the guidelines
« That’s good news Al, » Gethin said before teasing Alex about his bottom choice for the video call
Alex J replied: « Gethin, this is the only photo in my house where there are no toys and no food

Gethin added: « But the good thing is you can read a story to Teddy at bedtime and you don’t do that often. »
« Not very well, there are definitely some advantages to that, » Alex replied, « I’ll be going upstairs and reading bedtime stories soon »
Sir Cliff joined Alex on the iconic green sofa to discuss her autobiography The Dreamer when she made a mistake regarding his name
She asked the hitmaker, « How did you – long before today I didn’t even know it wasn’t your real name – but how did you find Cliff Richard? »
Sir Cliff went on to explain how he came up with his stage name, which surprised Alex’s co-host Rylan Clark Neal
