GM recalls 217,000 cars via IOS and Canada to repair transmission oil leaks that can cause fires or stopping the vehicle
The Associated Press reported Sunday that the GM recall includes specific editions from 2018 to 2020 Chevrolet Equinox, Chevrolet Traverse and GMC Terrain.
The car manufacturer also listed the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Cruze, Buick LaCrosse 2018 and 2019.The recall also included the 2020 Cadillac XT6, 2019 to 2020 Buick Encore, Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT4, GMC Acadia, and Chevrolet Blazer
The company said in government documents released last week that screws could be left from the stop-and-go mechanism, leading to engagement and potential fires, but GM said it had not received reports of accidents, fires, or injuries, according to the Associated Press.
Auto dealers will look at the stop-and-go mechanism and add bolts if not present, starting December 14
