The Australian idol star was filmed wrestling the slippery, shirtless reptile near a pub on the central north coast of New South Wales.
« He was in the back of @hoeymoey and scared all the backpackers, so I took him to a safe place, » Shannon, 45, told fans on Instagram.
Shannon posed for a picture with the snake and grinned as he held the reptile by its tail and neck.
What about me? Singer cheekily joked in his caption: « This tall guy tried to get on the show without a ticket! »
At sunrise on Tuesday, he remembered the heroic moment when he stepped in to remove the snake from the area.

‘I was just thinking, mostly stay away from the sharp end, but it scared the guys a bit. Obviously they probably had never seen anything like it. ‘
Shannon said he only volunteered to catch and release the snake elsewhere because he didn’t feel threatened.
‘I wouldn’t have gone anywhere if it had been a brown or a taipan [both highly venomous snakes] or something. I knew if he bit me I would just draw a little blood, but that’s about it, ”he explained.

He is currently on tour in New South Wales and has additional dates for Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania in 2021.
