LAHORE: Pakistani fast bowler Dilbar Hussain, who recently played for Lahore Qalandars in PSL-5, is currently under quarantine in Australia after contracting coronavirus, the franchise CEO Arif Rana has confirmed.
Rana said Dilbar Hussain passed his COVID-19 tests in Pakistan, but the virus was still found in his system when he landed in Australia.
The fast bowler has been in a biosecure bubble in Perth since last week, Rana said, adding, « We’re in touch with him and trying to lift his spirits. «
Dilbar will represent Melbourne Stars in the upcoming Big Bash League (BBL). He replaced team-mate Haris Rauf, whose sparkling bowling helped the stars drive through to the final in the last BBL.
Haris is currently on tour with the Pakistani team in New Zealand, which has led Melbourne to sign Dilbar.
Dilbar isn’t the only Pakistani player who passed his tests at home and is only infected abroad. The same happened to six Pakistani players who are currently on the New Zealand national team.
