NYCFC face the Chicago Fire in a MLS regular season match at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey, on Saturday, August 29, 2020 (8/29/20).

The contest will be played without fans in attendance as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Alexander Ring scored and NYCFC handed the Columbus Crew their first loss of the season with a 1-0 victory on Monday night.
Ring’s goal in the 59th minute came after Heber intercepted a poor clearance attempt by the the Crew. The goal, which snapped an 175-minute scoreless streak, was Ring’s first of the year.
It was just the second win of the regular season for NYCFC, playing a home game at Red Bull Arena.
The Crew were one of three undefeated teams left in the regular season, going 5-0-1 in the games that counted before facing NYCFC.
The teams also met to open the regular season before it was put on hold because of the coronavirus, with the Crew winning 1-0.
NYCFC was coming off a loss to the New York Red Bulls in the Hudson River Derby on Thursday, the team’s restart of the regular season. The Crew defeated the Chicago Fire 3-0 the same night in their return.
