Local health departments urged the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to rewrite its Covid-19 testing guidelines, pushing back against recent changes saying close contacts didn’t necessarily need to get tested if they weren’t showing symptoms.
Two associations representing local public-health departments sent a letter to the CDC saying science didn’t support the changes and asking the agency to reverse them.
