The latest installment of Atlanta United vs. Orlando City arrives this afternoon, and while the spectator-less setting will be different, expect no love lost between these two sides.
In the past year since these teams last met, Orlando has gone through some major changes, and were able to put them on display at the recent MLS is Back Tournament. Hosting the bubble may have helped, sure, but their run to the finals where they were defeated by the Portland Timbers certainly put other teams on notice. A loss to Inter Miami and midweek win over Nashville since then, and the Lions are still wanting to prove their run was no fluke, something Atlanta will want to discredit and keep the unbeaten record alive.
The Five Stripes will push for a second straight win of their own with much of the same roster situation as Wednesday’s boycotted match against Inter Miami. Hyndman and Barco remain questionable, Meza is still out with a knee injury, and Escobar will serve his one game suspension in this match. However, the unexpected bit of rest may bring changes to Stephen Glass’ starting eleven from the lineup put out on Wednesday.
Will the unbeaten streak continue? Will Pity Martinez show out again at the Benz? Remember to check out our match preview and three questions with The Mane Land, then come join us here as we follow the match together.
This thread will be your match thread. We don’t have many rules here. We just ask that you don’t insult each other personally and treat each other with respect. Debates can get heated and that’s fine, but name-calling and petty insults will get you banned. If you see a comment that you feel is out of line, please report it and it will be dealt with.
